In Uganda there is a severe lack of awareness, often leading to late diagnosis or complete lack of diagnosis of Autism. This has left parents to rely on deep-seeded cultural beliefs that mislabel the condition as “cursed” or “demon possessed.” Instead of seeking therapy intervention, parents subject these children to the inhuman practices of witchdoctors. With our solution parents use phones to track key indicators in their children from birth, enabling early diagnosis. After diagnosis parents can access critical information for at-home intervention and support.
