VOLUNTEER WITH US:

By volunteering with us, you have a direct impact on the lives of children and youth with special needs in Uganda. We’ve worked with volunteers ages 17-72 with a range of experience with special needs. What they have all shared is a passion for our mission. Join us and you can make a difference.

We have designed a unique volunteer experience that incorporates anthropologic principles and design theory to ensure you are part of an immersive cultural experience, while creating a meaningful impact. We typically accept professionals in the field of special needs (e.g. teaches, OTs, SLTs, others). Volunteer trips range from 3 weeks to 3 months during which time you’ll work hand-in-hand with a local counterpart at one of our placement sites. Plus you’ll have the opportunity to go on safari!

If you are a University student we have a unique fellowship program. Previous Fellows have gone on to become Fulbright Scholars, worked for the United Nations and so much more.

"Not a day goes by that I don't think about my time with EmbraceKulture in Uganda. The compassion, love, and devotion I saw in a matter of weeks changed me for the better, and I am so thankful to all the people I met and worked with."

- Laurie Williams, Staff Assistant at United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations
"Volunteering for Embrace Kulture was the most rewarding and grounding
experience of my life. The students, teachers and staff taught me how
to practice gratitude and the way they show love for each other was
contagious!"

- Grace Myers, Special Needs Teacher
