Why I Support Embrace Kulture:

When I learned about Uganda’s “Hidden Children”, I was reminded of my childhood experience. Having been a war refugee in the U.S.A and then in France, I can relate personally to the feeling of being different from others and the insecurity of not knowing what tomorrow will bring.  My parents, 7 siblings, and I were able to succeed in adversity because of our strong bond as a family, but also because of the kindness of caring people who went out of their way to help us.   Uganda’s “Hidden Children” need our care and I am honored to support the mission of Embrace Kulture.

What Program I'm Passionate About:

I support all the important programs at Embrace Kulture, but the one I am most connected to is the Gift of Health and Nutrition.  My father became an orphan at the age of 18.  Both of my paternal grandparents died of illness after not having the medical care they needed in their country village in Vietnam.  Therefore, health care was important to my father and he encouraged his children to study medicine and help others.   Without proper nutrition and basic medical services, the youth in Embrace Kulture’s care would not be able to learn and thrive.
