BEST BUDDIES UGANDA!!!

This past week we were lucky enough to have Jennifer Allen, of Best Buddies International come all the way to Uganda to train and launch the FIRST EVER Best Buddies Uganda Chapter!!

We worked with Entebbe Welfare School and Entebbe Secondary School, to start the first community of Best Buddies. We have been hosting group events since April 2016, but now are happy to say that we will start matching buddy pairs and move forward with the Best Buddies Friendship Program.

Best Buddies is an international organization working with over 700,000 people globally, in all 50 states and NOW 56 countries!!

Best Buddies is, "the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)."

Through Best Buddies and creating one-to-one friendships, we will continue to work to create an inclusive community in Entebbe, and later, all of Uganda. In alignment with Best Buddies, we hope to put ourselves out of business, meaning, one day, all people will be appreciated for all of their abilities, and we will not need Best Buddies Uganda any more!
